Head Chef

Role Overview:

  • Lead the culinary team in a vibrant Lebanese street food restaurant, ensuring high-quality and authentic dining experiences for guests.
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu planning to food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain a creative and innovative approach to menu development, reflecting traditional Lebanese flavors with a modern twist.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, as well as health and safety regulations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, mentoring and developing kitchen staff to achieve excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute menus that showcase Lebanese street food specialties while incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Maintain inventory levels and order supplies to meet operational needs while minimizing waste.
  • Monitor food quality and consistency, implementing improvements as needed to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere to budgetary guidelines and control costs related to food and labor.
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to develop promotions, special events, and marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment, preferably with experience in Lebanese cuisine.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Creativity and innovation in menu development, with a passion for exploring and experimenting with flavors.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred, but not required.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
