We’re Zataro, a dynamic hospitality group that’s rooted in the Levant, based in London, and inspired by people and flavours that travel far and wide.
Our first culinary project dates back to 2016, but that’s not when it all started.
Our story begins decades ago, around a kitchen table – because, where we come from, that’s where most stories start. Since we were old enough to bring our own spoon to our mouth, we knew Mediterranean cuisine was one-of-a-kind: because of its many flavours, of course, but also due to its integral role in our cultural heritage.
You see, where we come from, gathering people around good food is an art, and a huge part of our identity. Since then, we’ve been inspired by people and flavours that travel far and wide, eager to toss our own ingredients into this great big bowl of tabbouli that is life.

Behind the Concept
A visionary entrepreneur with a professional journey spanning decades and industries, Ayman Assi is a bon vivant at heart. He is the driving force behind Zataro’s success, expansion, and aspirations. After founding concierge service provider Amerald in 2007, he went on pursuing one of his many passions by launching A Events London in 2015, bringing world-renowned Middle Eastern artists to the heart of London. Zataro was next on his list of ventures, with its first establishment, Beit el Zaytoun opening its doors in 2016.
Looking ahead, his vision extends beyond London and the culinary scene as he finds new ways to create authentic Middle Eastern experiences around the world and across industries.
